Honoring Carson. Protecting Kids. Changing Tech.

Together, we can make the digital world safer for every child.

Our Mission

To advance Carson Bride’s vision for a better world by exposing Tech’s predatory and dangerous product designs through research, awareness, and advocacy.

What We Do

We take action in three ways:

Research

We shine a light on hidden dangers in small, fast-growing apps. By funding researchers and sharing real user experiences, we expose misrepresentation, unsafe designs, and harmful data practices.

Awareness

We educate families, schools, and policymakers through our website, newsletters, op-eds, public speaking, and co-sponsorship of National Social Media Victims Remembrance Day on June 23rd. These efforts are in support of a growing movement where we can all find ways to resist the “attention economy” that powerful tech companies have imposed upon us for profit.

Advocacy

We fight for change in statehouses and on Capitol Hill, lobbying for strong online safety laws that apply to all tech companies, big or small. We also support lawsuits that hold reckless platforms accountable in court.

Carson's Story

Carson was a bright, lively teenager with sparkling blue-green eyes and a smile that could light up any room. He loved acting in plays, writing stories, creating funny phrases, and making people laugh. He was the kind of kid who would notice if someone was having a bad day and go out of his way to cheer them up.

Like so many teens, Carson wanted to stay connected with friends during the Covid lockdowns. He joined Snapchat—where classmates introduced him to anonymous apps like Yolo and LMK. Within two weeks, he was flooded with hundreds of cruel and humiliating messages. Carson’s last phone searches were how to find how to reveal YOLO’s anonymous usernames so he could find out which classmates were doing this to him.

Hours later, Carson died by suicide on June 23, 2020 while his family slept.

His story reminds us that kindness truly matters. Behind every screen is a real person with real feelings. If you aren’t willing to put your name to a message, perhaps it’s not worth sending at all.
